Football, tennis, music, geography and internet.
What other interests do you have apart from Chess?

I play chess casually and exclusively off-line. I come here for the intelligent conversation. :)
I do Toyama Ryu iaido and a mix of aikido, Japanese jujitsu and judo. I like reading about Japanese swordsmen and battles and have a proclivity for military history in general. My first love, however, is the martial arts.
I play more backgammon than I do chess. Many people have no idea how much strategy is involved in backgammon and play it as simply a game of luck. I have reached a rating of over 2300 on a couple of different sites even though I don't consider myself better than average.
It is easier to excel in backgammon with Bill Robertie who is a chess master being a prime example. He left his chess career and became one of the strongest backgammon players in the world. Two time world champ.

Geography, history, physics. I like to do stupid mathematical things that don't work. Most recently I tried to derive pi in a brilliant way.

Busy in a important govt job 10am to 3:30 pm weekdays, after that ...
Mondays I like to play dixit. After that kill a few terrorists.
Tuesdays i play taboo and then do half price surgeries on the poor

My hobbies are chemistry, math, programming, studying buddhist philosophy, and gardening.
Chess is no longer my favorite hobby since I reached my plateau (the era of fast easy improvement is over).
Also, is Chess your favourite hobby or not?
For me, I'd say that it is. I do like video games, playing the drum kit and discussing politics as well though.
