What Screen Record Software do you recommend to record Chess Videos?

Hello chessplayers.  I've had a couple chess related YouTube channels in the past & recented created a new one that I plan to be more professional & focused exclusively on chess-related content.

I used to use Windows Media Encoder but that no longer works with Windows 8.

Also, I'd like to be able to add circles & arrows like the chess.com video presentors do (and chessnetwork/Jerry does).

Since I'm not a titled player & there are many, many stronger presentors than myself I'm going to focus on tight commentary, clear & understandable lessons each time & also plan to do much more live video (in person with strong chess masters, I don't want to give away all my ideas here but will keep y'all posted when I create content).

If you've made videos before please tell me what software you've used.  If you're used multiple methods please share the pros & cons & your favorite methods.

I'm actually considering finding someone on Craigslist to teach me the ins & outs of basic video editing.  Like I said, I've done assorted off-the-cuff chess videos in the past but as I've said here I'm not really a strong enough player for that to be good-enough.  I have to really make everything tight if I want to be able to attract an audiance.

Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Best, Tony

I ended up going with ScreenCastOMatic as recommended here : http://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/what-sw-to-record-video-commentary

I'm having an annoying issue with ChessBase having the variations window pop up within the video frame which looks very unprofessional...

Hi Narz, I'd like to recommend Joyoshare Screen Recorder to you. I've used it for many years and I haven't found any defects yet. I always use it to record videos in high definition with zero lag and upload them to YouTube. Maybe you could give it a try. You can visit them at: https://www.joyoshare.com/screen-recorder-for-win/

I hope that you can find your favorite video recorder.

Just use one studio and the chess.com analysis tool (www.chess.com/analysis) to draw arrows and highlight squared
