What to do after a bad losing streak?

lol

a losing streak means you're attention is waning and you make moves without really assessing the situation on the board. The reason behind the lack of concentration or a certain "fogginess" can differ, but usually taking a break and occupying your mind with other things for a while can break the spell.
It could also be that you were on a winning streak before and then you started to get sloppy and nonchalant

Ivanchuk himself had a bad year a while back, dropped out of the top ten, was getting close to 2700. Everyone said he shouldn't keep up the active schedule of his younger days, he needed a break.
But he kept on playing & made it back into the top ten in about a year. As long as you can have fun & try to learn from your losses, keep playing. If you can't, take a break. One size doesn't fit all.

What is the distinction between a bad losing streak and a good losing streak?
My five year old nephew just beat me five games in a row. He played black.
IM Danny Rensch beat me five games in a row.

After a losing streak, I review what I think about between moves - where am I getting lazy and not seeing why a move is bad? I also do a lot of tactics problems.

Acceptance is the first step to recovery. Nobody loses four games in a row. Admit to yourself you simply suck at chess. It is a colossal waste of time anyway. Quit chess and take up something you are good at.
I very much disagree if you mean that if your on a losing streak you should quit chess. Just because you lose a few games doesn't just mean your bad at chess (most of the time at least) you could just be getting distracted or your passion for the game goes away. Take a break if you go on a losing streak but don't quit unless you want to.

Spot on Sir!
If someone loses 4 games in a row, he should break his computer, burn his chess pieces to ashes and punch anyone in the face who keeps talking about chess! Woah! You couldn't have been more correct. Well said sir!

I keep having long losing streaks then all of a sudden I start winning a few. I'm wondering if its part of my autism which means I get distracted but I'm searching for solutions. I think we have to be patient with ourselves 🤗🤗
Whenever you lose a game, stop playing and analyse it first. That prevents mental tilt. It also channels the negative emotions of the loss towards a positive goal: improving.

I would have broken dozens of computers!
