Heres what I said last Wednesday:

"Well played. I really thought that looked like a draw."

The annoying thing is, it WAS a draw. If I had just played one move a couple of moves earlier, noticing the pin on my pawn, it would have been perfectly drawn. DARN YOU TIME PRESSURE!!!

postaljester

I knock all the chess pieces down and scream about the russians trying to mess with my head. I usually steal a queen or a king so that they cant have other games played.

When you lose a game, you should act like a complete professional

...accuse your opponent of cheating and storm out.

Depends on how angry I get, but stabbing him is allways an option.

On a more serious note, if we are talking online, I usually give them a goodgame, if I lost due to me just screwing myself over, I usually just leave the game without any comment.

thepitbull

win or lose, I always say good game.  Usually, I try to either review the game or play a rematch with my opponent. After a "best of 3" with my opponent, I may end it or continue, depending on whether I have time or not.

cena_warrior

i will always tell my opponent "good game", and then move on to analyze my own game.. if they were good at any piece, i would give them the knight virtuoso, comisinoer (forgot the spelling) of the queen or those similar ones (if the game was here on chess.com)

and if i won, i would still say "good game", and i would add, "better luck next time"

ty4playing

If I win: ty4playing.

If I lose: ty4playing.

No, in all seriousness, when I win I normally say something like "Thanks for the game," and when I lose it's often along the lines of "Thanks for the lesson" or "Well done."  "Good game" is also common, if it is a good game.

By the way, that's a great picture with the original post.

shreeganeshMpillai

'good game', good game friend', 'gg'.. these all what i say.

Over the board:  Attempt a handshake, and say: nice job!

Online? If the player was chatting a bit,I'd say:  Well done!  If there was no dialogue, I'd keep it that way, win or lose...

Viau_A

I say gg all the time, what ever the situation.

Tamer

Well played. And try to learn something from the win, or the loss.  Wink

BrazilCoup

Some play because they like win. Others play because they like play.

I like to feel the pleasure of my opponent when he wins.

i never lose

When I loose a game I cry and beat people up around me

SilverBirch

I always say "well played" no matter how bitter I may feel,if I have chatted with my opponent I may use a less generic response suiting the game and player, and if in tournaments I usually wish them good luck with remaining games.

There is no need to be rude because I lose, I lose because I played badly or I played someone better, there are no other reasons for loss.

Thats the truth, it is just a game after all.

I get all misty when I lose and, and, and, and, I can't hardly talk.
