An opening repertoire is a set of openings that you play.
For example as black defend 1 e4 e5 and 1 d4 d5 and as white open 1 e4.

Marcyful

A set of openings that you play often. A simple yet suitable repertoire for beginners to intermediate players is to have 1 opening prepared for white and 2 openings prepared for black, 1 against 1.e4 and another against 1.d4. So something like this:
White - Vienna Game
Black against 1.e4 - French Defense
Black against 1.d4 - Dutch Defense
You could go further with your repertoire if you want like having an e4 and a d4 opening prepared for white and having a black opening prepared against 1.c4, but the basic repertoire is already sufficient.
