What's is Magnus Carlsen's IQ?

Not that there's anything wrong with being factually incorrect and silly.

narceleb

Actually, I got a 185.

Really.

And yes, I really am a rocket scientist.

fyi

In this article a standard deviation of 24 is mentioned in contrast to the Stanford-Binet scale (std. 15).

There is also another scale which uses std. 20.

In order to being able to compare the different IQ you have to adjust for the different scales.

it is almost impossible to score as high as 180 on a Stanford-Binet scale. On the other hand the values smaller than 100 will also be less extreme.

@narceleb

That is great on an any scale - so nearly impossible on a stanford binet scale

Kasparov's IQ was measured on the European version of the IQ tests.

These tests have a standard deviation of 15 and thus a lower variance than the american version of the IQ test. Kasparovs IQ would translate to about 146 on the american scale (standard deviation 20).

We need you to speak on a 5th grade level so we can refute what you are saying as that is what we do at chess.com. I say 5th grade because if i say bring it down a little i still will not be sure what your saying or if i did you will have moved onto to another subject when i do figure out all that rocket science mumbo jumbo. lol

probably around 100

The question here should also be.... what does he do to maintain it?

BabyRhinoRainbow

To be fair, that site does provide some useful information (for example, it exhibits Bertrand Russell's gross stupidity)

If I meet him at the local grocery store I ask him. But I do not think he knows nor which to know. We can assume his IQ score would be high if tested. There are inteligence of different kinds that are not measured in a IQ-test but which is needed to become a good chess player. Also training and experience are important. Conclusion; high IQ alone will never make you a grandmaster, but it's still needed

StrategicPlay

Carlsen's IQ is 32.

I just called him up and asked.

Soon pictures of Magnus Carlsen,of his his father, and other Top GMI I took in Wijk aan Zee the last 24 hours of the tournament and in London in December. (Maybe I can sell them to a chess magazine or a non chess magazine. If somebody knows how I cand do it, |It could help me).

Some of my pictures are rare, taken in the Hotel of Magnus Carlsen, the same as mine, (With the permission of his father).

Soon I will post one of them here.

Now, if you find someone's score listed on the testing agency's official site, that's evidence.  Otherwise you are all arguing about imaginary numbers.

As opposed to evidential imaginary numbers.

Yeah, like on that popular TV program, Who Wants To Be A Fifth-Grader?

Carlsen's statement that he doesn't calculate moves smells of bull crap to me.  I think that is ridiculous.  Maybe that is true to an extent, but I'll be he is oversimplifying this a lot.  Otherwise why does he look at the position for several minutes.  Is he staring at the board try to get in touch with his feelings every time?

Sometimes,Intuition does the job!Ever heard Anand being called the lightning Kid?He used tto beat Gm's by playing classical games like blitz games cuz he used to go by Intuition and not calculate much! Some people have these kinda skills too!

Magnus Carlson is good at playing a board game way to much.............Are you people truly that self absorbed (no lives), that you even debate this subject and try to relay what you write as being a ( I wish list about your own percieved idea's that if you all try to read each other's? I hope you can identify that you are all saying the same thing.

Anyone does way to much of anything and has some natural ability in that area as well......Guess what?? There is an immense possibilty that they will be better than most others in that chosen field.

It's the same as be great at anything else (anything).

Do you honestly think he is brilliant enough and may come up with a new fuel source and way's to prevent starvation and war????????

I would not have enough time in my life to write down everything he can't even do!

I really hope you have all understood and try not to be clever and write rubbish to prove to yourself how brilliant you and he is, just because you all agree.

This entire post is just steaming of insecurity and jealousy.

Drunk?
