No,the colors are white and red usually

Holy cow kid, stop junking the forums with these "I want points" threads! They aren't even funny!
he's a kid. 2Q was about as bad as this, but 2Q didn't have an excuse
I can admire the enthusiasm of youth, but these threads are getting dangerously close to spamming, if they're not already there. I'm afraid the mods might soon have to introduce our young members to the term "spamming".
CHESS=Intellectual contest of sophisticated strategies.
DRAUGHTS=It's raining and we can't go outside so let's play a silly board game.

Sounds serious when someone named Arjun says holy cow ;-)

And meanwhile pashak will teach them a few insults ;-)

2q's mom allowed him to do whatever he wanted in his room. So there.

They are both played on a Checkerboard, this is granted. They both use pieces which are moved around. This is also true. But there are fine details that should be considered when comparing the two. There are minor differences that make them different sports. It's like comparing 8 ball pool to 9 ball pool. Hope this helps.

And others will teach them about the ancient art of trolling.

Comparing Checkers to Chess is not like comparing 8-ball to 9-ball. Comparing Checkers to Chess is like comparing digging a hole to bury someone, doing the same thing every time, moving diagonally, to operating an ice cream and sundae shop where every time you are doing something different, as in maybe this next customer wants a Root Beer Float with Chunky Monkey ice cream (basically a banana flavor ice cream sold at Ben and Jerry's) and the next wants Mint Chocolate Chip with gummy worms and marinara sauce on it!
The differences between checkers and chess are NOT minor at all. They are MAJOR!
Checkers: Red and Black
Chess: White and Black
Checkers: Black goes first
Chess: White goes first
Checkers: Only the dark squares are used on the board
Chess: All 64 squares are used
Checkers: All Checkers must be captured to win
Chess: Only one piece matters - The King
Checkers: All pieces move the same. Diagonally forward until crowned a King, then diagonally in any direction.
Chess: All pieces move difference. Pawns can't move backwards, and when promoted, can be made into any one of four pieces. No such option in checkers
Checkers: Captures occur by jumping
Chess: Captures occur by occupying the same square that the opponent's piece is on (except en passant)
Checkers: Captures are obligatory. If you can capture, you must capture. If you have multiple ways to capture, you can choose either one, but you can't leave tension on the board.
Chess: No capture is obligatory and tension can be maintained
Checkers: Has be figured out to a draw from the starting position. So much so that I have heard now in checkers tournaments, each game the first 10 moves or something like that are pre-determined.
Chess: While theoretically a draw, it hasn't been figured out from the starting position
I'm sure there are many other differences. These are just the ones that come to mind.
