Hi, what does *** ( with a line at the bottom) mean?

thanks

Um, I've never seen it before. But it could be used to take up the space on the black side if the game ended on whites move? lol that's the best I can come up with! XD

Hi Dirtalot--sorry to say I played tournaments for a decade or so and haven't seen it either.  If it's not 0-0-0 for queenside castling then maybe this page will help:

I have seen it twice after a " full analysis" with fritz 14 of one of my games *** with ____ underneath!

I'm a Chessmaster user myself, but it looks like Fritz employs some odd symbols.  This guide for V13 explains them under Reference -> Commentary -> Commentary Symbols, but it still doesn't describe the one you're mentioning:

The V14 guide doesn't appear to exist online yet, but if it came with your product then maybe it has a similar reference?

It's houdini 14 i have with the fritz gui......it's not in the manual however it's certainly in the commentary analysis! Very puzzling!
