When someone leaves you hanging

What do you do when someone decided they didn't like the way the game was going so they just leave you there hanging in a 30 minute game instead of resigning?

I mean is there a way to win the game by default?

@OP: Just stay in the game; don't resign or abandon the game, but be patient. Also, check the game periodically, in case your opponent decides to move when his time gets very low. Some people have been victimized by opponents who move at the last second, in order to try to steal the game away.

When your opponent runs out of time, you will win the game by default.

One more thing to remember: When your opponent abandons the game as you have described, they will be flagged as having violated the Fair Play Policy. This policy is described in the site's FAQ help menus.
