Which countries possess chess education program

In the Netherlands there is schoolchess at the age of 10 childeren can choose if they want to go in this class or for example go in the singingclass. The teachers are normal teachers and not real chesstrainers. I think something like the stappenplan of Cor can wijgeren is used. And afer a few lessons there is one small tournement between schools in which every child plays about 10 games. At least this was when I was a kid. If childeren after this wants to go on a chessclub is up to there own choice. Parents that are intoo chess themselfs often learn and encourage there childeren more like for example the van Forest famalie.

Charlotte, NC, here in the U.S., has a scholastic chess program. Several master's I know teach them. I think it's a great idea.
I think its fantastic that real masters gives lessons to the childern. This is not in the Netherlands and if normal teachers that know a little about chess give the lessons it is not be taken serieusly enough and the level is then much lower then it could be.

In Uruguay a chess app is in school tablets: those are android tablets gifted by government to every child in the country at the age of 5-6 yo, and that contain the approved set of software under a custom shell. So, there is chess. For higher grade pupils the government gift laptops - what is there in laptops I'm yet to discover, dunno so far.
Look I understand that chess is considered an academic pursuit, but having chess taught in school still makes no sense. Would you ask if any nation has COD as part of its curriculum in schools?
Chess all eventually a game. As part of extra-curriculars I think a lot of schools would have it though. However as part of the regular thing though, I doubt
