What makes you think that's his girlfriend? The picture has clearly been edited to remove the background.
Ian Nepomniachtchi and Hou Yifan both won gold medals in Basque chess at Beijing in 2014. Perhaps the picture is from that event.
This rumour is definitely NOT true. They both won gold in this event so had to take a photo together.
