I was playing with my friend otb this evening and occured this position in the endgame. I am playing white. We both agreed to draw. I think white is winning still I offered draw as I did not wanted to take a risk.

I assumed it was white's move since he offered the draw.

Looks like a double-edged game as both sides have plans with their passed pawns.

White probably wants to play a4, and maybe get his pawns rolling with a5-b6 supported by a rook at least.

But black doesn't have to just sit it through as he can also play something like d4-c3 and maybe d3 if he gets the chance, which also looks dangerous.

The continuation could be sharp, but if I had to guess I'd say that the game should probably be a draw.

Sorry I forget to mention It is white to move.

@ shoopi: Ok. Thank you! Then my decision was right. I could have took a risk to play but my opponent was stronger than me. So I decided to draw.

I think you should've played it out at least for the experience if it wasn't a rated game. It might be a draw if it were masters playing, but i doubt either of you are at that level.

Running this position with Houdini, he thinks that black is better (starts at +1 and gradually improves).

Apperantly white has no real counter play with his passed pawns on the queenside, while black has all the chances to go for a win. White will also play f3 and after black replies exf3, his extra pawn is no longer doubled.
