No matter how you dice it or slice it, Tal is the most exciting chess player ever. Who cares who's better?

I think people tend to overestimate the oldies a bit, I mean, Tal was World Champion for a year and scored a minus in his two matches against 50 year old Botvinnik. That he definitely would be stronger than Carlsen is a bold claim. Carlsen has won everything for fifteen years and no one would even consider another player as the clearly best the last decade, while Tal the decades he peaked still by many would be ranked behind at least a few of Botvinnik, Petrosian, Spassky, Fischer and Smyslov.

Tal WChamp fot one year and Carlsen for 10. Right, from this point of view thre is no comparison. But from artistic point of view there is right opposite. Do you enjoy replaying Carlsen’s games? I do not. Carlsen played beautiful games only in his youth. When i want to see exciting, beautiful game, i look at Tal’s games. He played exciting chess basically until his death.
