why am I so garbage at chess

Unless you are going to make a living out of chess it shouldnt matter, just enjoy your game for what its worth and leave the rest to time.Peace.

151 blitz games, 1 rapid. THIS is why you suck. Play longer games.
Nah. For a beginner is good to have experience, but slow time control would kill his desire. He don't know anything, he is wasting time and at the end after month he still don't know much, because he havent played much. And all that information at early is too much for him. Unless he is planning to play seriously in OTB Tournaments i won't recomment to play slow time controls.
Play blitz at least 1 000 games with analyze after each game. Watch blitz games by masters with commentary, learn from it, solve tactics and then go to slow time controls.

I hovered around your level for the longest time (my blitz and standard rating is a good indication of how poor I used to be, as I haven't played them in forever).
I am getting better because I play online chess and am forced to learn openings. I also use the feature where you can move pieces around. I am learning how things flow because of that feature. You begin to see the same patterns again and again. You begin using the same principles again and again - such as the discovery, the pin, the fork, the back rank mate, double attack, REMOVING THE DEFENDER (learn that principle immediately, it's very important), etc.

I disagree about playing Blitz to improve. I Blitz games you are simply trying to find a good move fast, and to beat the clock. Slower time controls give you time to think of the best moves, or at least better moves than you can find in Blitz. I think it should actually be the other way around; the beginner should play slow games until they improve and then start playing Blitz to help you think faster. It's like playing a musical instrument; start slow until you can hit the right notes and then gradually increase the speed.

You could give a worse piece of advice than that, but it would take a lot of effort.
My advices are worth more than your .. wait you don't have any - only troll comments and some opening lines that nobody cares. Thats how everybody will remember you after you disapear.

Don't worry if you lose. I mean, take it like a way to improve. Whenever you lose analyze and try to understand why you lose. You can play blitz for sure, but I think your best option (if you want to improve faster and better) is to play some standard games like 15 | 10. Get used to longer time controls and do some tactics puzzles.
Uh, you need to learn how to count you rude little turd stain. Not only do I have more wins than loses, I've played over a hundred total games AND all my ratings are way above yours. I don't even know why I try to help people in this stupid place. My mistake, won't happen again.

Keep trying. I'm a terrible and I started to play during the Fischer- Spassky in 1872. To improve my chess I have, for a year. stopped playing and devoted all of my time playing the tactics trainer. It turns out it is a lot of fun. I'm sure that my play will improve once I return to the game.
