Good Day!
Does anyone know why the servers on this site are so bad? I have very quick internet with a very low ping, but whether I'm playing on my PC or on a mobile device, the servers are so slow. By contrast, [another site -- MS] works so much better.
It takes Chess.com's servers so long to register a move, which is a nightmare as I like to play fast games. With [another site], I can play out games that have a 1 sec increment by playing quickly and slowly build my time back up.
On here it just goes down no matter how quickly I move.
What's going on?!
Thanks!
Your local connection is only a part of the equation. Other traffic on your local network segment, client processes, or an issue between your ISP and the site servers can play into connectivity issues. Misbehaving advertisements can sometimes as well.
There are some things you can do in your end to minimize issues, but it may not fix everything. The site also only allows a maximum amount of lag time.

Other sites don't share the same path, other than the first few hops and handle lag differently (such as forgiving all or most lag).
