Why do chess.com players put up fake pictures of themselves as their profile picture?

It's funny when you put as your profile pick "GM" and people actually think it's true (I would have put a more realistic title but I can't find a photo for CM)

My profile pick was at some point set back to a photo of you (the pawn photo) sorry for stealing your identity  (warning that was a joke).

I am using my own picture.

The camo is deceptive.

I use to put pics of myself up.  Nobody hated them.  As a matter of fact it got me into trouble.  The trouble is completely pointless now so maybe I’ll bring myself back someday.  

As of right now though, it feels good to be a pick pocketer.    The pic in my avatar is one of my P.I.C.s. And she is doing well.  

All these people posing as innocent pawns - do you think we are that gullible?
