So i have been playing Chess.com For a very long time (Lichess.org too) i have started in around 800 elo and i rose up and struggled in other areas of ratings until i reached 1600 elo its been a few months playing in 1600 my peak was 1669 then i fell down back to 1625 i was so sad and mad i felt suicidal some points in my career. Please help me reach a better rating so i can enjoy my life i did in the past.

1600s is an amazing rating! This shows you've progressed a lot already! As for feeling bad with rating, this is relatable for most chess players and variance is normal and expected. Everyone goes up and down a lot in rating; it doesn't make it any easier to deal with in the moment, but you aren't alone. Here are several chess resources I recommend, but if your mental health is a factor anymore than what is expected, then a mental health professional would be better for you than chess players giving advice online.

Here are some of the chess resources I have:

Next three are videos. 1st is showing you with statistics how 1600s is WAY above average! 2nd is my Stop-Loss System in chess. 3rd is almost an hour long, but extremely helpful information for fighting off tilt:

I get stuck I was stuck at around 2000(do to other things like school)

I recommend trying new things different playing styles etc if your stuck you need to change something quickly usually what goes up must comes down but for trying new things it is the opposite (when you improve ) what goes down must come up lol

Also if you do try new things unless they work really well you are probably going to lose elo at first

DO NOT worry about it if you decrease in elo continue learning and trying new things you may increase in elo you may not don't put too much pressure on yourself most likely that will just make you more stuck

1600 rating is huge, very huge!! When you speak like this, it tilts more towards mockery. And your saying you're stuck there for only some months hmm. I'm 1200 and have plans of getting to 2000🙂

When you find a roadblock, take a different path - change your method completely

You should not hate yourself, because your chess has hit a plateau and you aren't stomping everyone else. If your enjoyment of life is tied to your chess rating, you have more problems than a bunch of strangers on a chess site can straighten out. You may need professional help or therapy to get your life fixed.

Well, if you're OK with that, then that's fine. Just don't forget to smile.

everyone has their max limit at which they seem to float at some its 500 some its 1600 me i just got to 250 recently and seem to float there i hope stay there but who knows -- the question is you can't go by someone elses rise in the ranks ---- eg napoleon was 30 when is rose quite fast in the french army --patton was the much later so was bradley much later -in life - rommel was like 45 before even was noticed by the german high command macrather was very late also -- the point is all are remembered now as generals of standing no matter how long it took for them- they all have movies about them books articles of fame and fortune -- so being 1600 at your time is just where you at now not the end and if it takes you 30 years to get to 2500 /3000 then thats what it is --

Not everyone has a max limit .... But some people meet a max peak and never get back up even if they have the ability to also at higher levels it doesn't become just learning chess you have to figure it out faster than you opponents since they also learn ... Elo isn't a good indicator of "max" skill

Brotha 1600 is very good. If I was 1200 it would be happy. 1600 is very good. I believe in you

*meant not everyone

Though your thought process might slow down when you age which could make things difficult for chess

Napoleon never would have gotten anywhere, but for the French Revolution that swept all the officers with connections out. I'm also not sure you want to be using Nazis as examples here.

I also think he meant "MacArthur" instead of "macrather"
