Being from UK (different time zones) how do i make chess buddies on here ? I do have lots of friends in London UK but none of them are interested in chess
Why does no one talk
I've been playing mostly on the android app. It seems like when the game is over the chat closes immediately. Am I missing something? I was interested in discussing after, but the option seemed to be greyed out.

I understand chess is a game of total concentration and silence is necessary during battle, but surely a little chat after the game can be interesting. how are you supposed to improve your game and have a laugh about the Queen you just lost to a pawn (hasn't happened to me yet). You play everyone then they just jump straight to another game. You might as well be playing the computer. Get some social skills people
Are we talking about online blitz games or slower games OTB? In person, I find players far more willing to chat after most games in analysis-fashion. You just need to find the right people; some players are just quite by nature, or don't like the process of analysis. Sometimes I find the post-game analysis almost as exhilarating as the game itself. Fairly often I will be pointing out a line I considered and someone observing will try to point out the flaw in my line - then I move and then they move and we basically play blitz for a few moves. I then either admit that they were right and my position is now worse, or they admit their mistake: it goes about 50-50; that is part of the fun Analysis doesn't always have to be solely on a computer by yourself; both approaches have their merits.

There is a lot of communcation going on during a game, it's just non-verbal.
When I play or see particular moves, defense/attack patterns or openings, different emotions can be triggered because my opponent and I understand that something was meant to be expressed with that action.
Could be a taunt, act of kindness in not taking a piece or just making a new move in a position that was previously lost, causing both of us to smile.

I play in focus mode. I see only your avatar, the clocks and the board. I don't even see chat if you were to write anything.

I'm out of medication but I'll get serious for a minute. The thread is....."Why Does No One Talk". and the answer is.....Facebook has conditioned them not to. I listen to podcast. It drives me bonkers when a college educated guest answers with a 30 min barrage of........you know....like......like you know......you know like like and the other day......like, like, you know, you know?....I, like like the other day like was talking like you know...................ad nauseum.

Another thing I can't stand is when young people say......"Oh that's RAD man" What is that a new color......a type of clothes...what? People over 35 understand that's a southern Calif surfer expression for "RADICAL", but the're so stupid and so lazy they can't even say the whole word......RADICAL!
say it....
