Why I hate chess.com

Every time I’m about to break a new peak, such as I was about to break 1300 blitz, I magically get paired with sandbaggers, smurfs and 1400’s.

I reach 1294 after winning 5-6 games in a row, and get paired against a 1400 smurf who plays better than 1700s I’ve played.

The same happens 2-3 more games until I’m back down to mid 1200’s.

it’s almost like chess.com is designed to get you to keep playing, keep grinding, and keep spending more time on their site. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an actual algorithm that pairs you against extremely strong, high winning players as soon as you near a new 1300 or whatever milestone, because they know as soon as you break it, you’re going to put the phone down. If you can’t break it, you’re going to be addicted to the app until you do.

makes me irate

maybe you played bad not because they're good

i got two 90 accuracy games in blitz today just by playing reasonable moves in the endgame and then my opponent would lose.
