Wouldn't it be considered closer to classical?

'A.1 A ‘Rapid chess’ game is one where either all the moves must be completed in a fixed time of more than 10 minutes but less than 60 minutes for each player; or the time allotted plus 60 times any increment is of more than 10 minutes but less than 60 minutes for each player.'

So yes, 60|0 is no rapid, but is classical.

For here, there's not a classical type rating pool yet.  My understanding is it's being worked on, though I haven't seen any details on what the minimum time controls will be.

Any idea as to the time frame, Martin?  A while back you (or somebody who works for chess.com) suggested "by the end of the year"

I haven't heard anything about a potential timeline.

If you go to custom, below daily time settings, set it to 61 minutes, does it still classify it as rapid? If not, maybe you can get around it that way.

It doesn't, but 60|60 is classical, and 65 min is classical.
