Why is chess.com so laggy?

Why?

I’ve been experiencing lags when play beta started. For example, in a 1 minute bullet game, I always lose. My opponent has about 30 seconds, and i have 0. It’s not like i’m moving slow. Why is this happening?

You can use regular live chess instead of play beta. try that.

Try using your computer. It might be the device's lag or something like that.

100ms delay.. lol if u noticed that it takes one tenth of a second to premove

Yes, but when i premove, it takes 1 second or more

anyone suggest a platform to try which might not lag. I've watched opponent's time actually go up after there move, and just played pre-moves and still spent more time than the opponent. love bullet but would prefer to have 60 instead of 45 seconds.

I doubt it.

As internet games go it seems chess should not be that complex.

Chess.com has a serious lag issue...

I think the managers like it  or they are willing to spend money to fix it.

Try playing on LiChess.org. Does it lag there as well? Or is it only on chess.com?

Lichess has not been lagging for me. Chess.com has, unfortunately, become almost unplayable.

I have a very laggy experience on chess.com. When I grab a piece, the piece lags. Its like its taking a lot of processing power just to show the almost still image on the screen. I don't have this problem on lichess.

100% same issue. my connection is great. lichess is lightning fast. chess.com i lose minutes off of my 15min games due to lag. have lost many games recently because ive timed out while thinking im waiting for the opp to move, or just lagging in moving my own pieces.
