Why no rematch? What am I missing?

So I have noticed that very very few people will do a rematch on this site.
If I win, I get rematch requests often.  And I always accept.

After all, we learn more about ourselves and our game if we play more than once with a given person.
But if I lose (especially if it was a close game), I hardly ever am granted a rematch.
Any idea why the culture here is like that?  Am I missing something?  Does it have something to do with points or rating?
I could care less about my rating.  I want to become better.  Straight up.
I dunno... it's just not very fun.  Thinking about canceling my subscription.
Kinda. alot of rude people here too.
What are your thoughts?

Nobody ows you a rematch.
Maybe the opponent
wants to eat or drink something or visit the toilet...
wants to analyse the game while the imprint is still fresh,
is concerned about a possible engine assisted revenge.

once your higher, i don't think its the rematch you have to worry about but finding a pairing

hey man once i get my win i can’t let you take that away from me 🤓

Try adding a player as a friend. They might be more interested in a rematch when it's more convenient for them.

often the loser plays much more aggressive and irrational on the rematch… an attitude i prefer to avoid

chess.com should really have a "best of three" option. OPTION!
And if someone doesn't follow through with the rematch, they lose points.

That would be fine, as long as it was just an optional setting.

Last sentence.

Happened to me a few times before a friend explained to me what was happening.

No more rematches for me.

I don’t often get rematch requests, and when I do, I don’t notice a difference between whether I won or lost.

I decline almost all of them, just because I don’t want to play them again. No particular reason needed.

The only time when I would rematch someone is in a friendly game over the board.

Because your bruised ego isn't my responsibility.

Ye true but nothing to do with his question

Nobody owes anyone a rematch. It's courteous to offer one, maybe, but I'm only going to offer one if I actually enjoyed the game, win or lose, and if I feel that there's more interesting stuff coming.

I'll never rematch after a game I can't find anything memorable about.

I feel quite annoyed when I lose and someone offers a rematch. It feels like they are just trying brag or hope to gain more points off of me. So I always deny those.
TheNumberTwenty

I only rematch if I feel like the oponnent played an interesting game. I'd never rematch say, a London player

MSteen

I almost never rematch. I like to go straight to Game Review and analyze the game while it's still fresh.

I don’t ask for rematches but if someone asks me for one then I’ll almost always accept it (they usually request one after they lose). And with a big chunk of these players, I notice that the moment they secure a win against me or reclaim the elo they lost, they exit the game lol. Rematch culture can be weird.

I like that suggestion. Seems easy to implement, Even better would be adding heads-up match in live play so you could select elo ranges, time, etc plus number of games to play
