I've started this Wii Chess forum for players to make friends, arrange matches, swap friend codes, and offer hits and tips on playing Chess

The Wii Chess Club Forum

Thanks.

Is the game worth it? Even when having chess.com?

I got the wii, so I could mess around with the rest of the family and not just sit on my butt.....

Not sure chess on wii really utilises its better points?

Well it means your partner can use the PC while you play Chess on the Wii :)

It's good, and there some good players on it.

It costs a bit of money though. Less than a regular game, but still. I'm not sure...

It's a budget title at £19.99 compare to £35.00 other Wii games.  If you shop around it you could pick it up cheaper.

Random gaming - you can play opponents who are a similar level to you, or any level.  You start with a level of 1500 points.   If you lose your ratings goes down.  Win, it goes up.  It adds to the competitive side of Chess fans.

You can also review matches and see when you went wrong and play from that position.

It uses the Loop Express Chess Engine, so can play against the computer.

What it does lack is a tutorial, but that is what this great website is for.  Otherwise it's very good (for a console game)

Skybax

I'm gonna buy it…
