I doubt it ...
Some day in the future there's gonna be a 2900-rated player, but I believe he won't be named Carlsen.

It is possible, but he must pick his opponents so they do not draw.
Each draw loses rating for Carlsen.
He will never reach 2900. In fact, he will never even get within 30 points of it. If he could have done it, he would have done it while in his twenties. Now, at the age of 30+, all hopes of reaching 2900 are gone forever. If he really believes that it is still possible for him to do so, then he is delusional, as is anyone else who thinks he could.
He was already within 30 points of it in the past, his best was 2 882. Don't know if he will gain some points for Tata Steel tournament, he will be 9.5/13 in the end, so he might actually break 2 870 after the tournament is done.
He probably will not be able to get to 2 900, on that I agree.

I wasn't talking about what he did in the past. When I say he won't get withing 30 points of it, I mean from today on.
Well, he is now 35 points shy of 2 900, so he needs 5 points more to prove you wrong. He had a pretty good tournament, so perhaps he already proved you wrong. I am not sure though, we will have to wait for a few days to see FIDE list.
He only won 3 points with the whole Tata Steel. That's part of the problem. He's so higher rated than the others, that he needs no beat everyone to get a significant rating change... but beating everyone isn't easy. Sure, it happens, but not everyday. And he can't even drawn, because drawing makes him lose points. I don't want to say that is impossible for him... but it's very unlikely.

Of course, it is very difficult simply because everyone is much lower rated, so he lose some points for every draw. It is highly unlikely he will get to 2 900, though not completely out of the question.
In order for him to get there, he would have to play flawlessly for multiple tournaments in a row, which is really difficult.
Why would he wanna do that? He has the highest rating on the world, 2900 is just a number.. not a goal. there is nothing special with a rounded number. Whats the difference between 2900 and 2912 or 2888 for him?
There is no upper title, there is no one to catch.. I don't think he really cares..

I mean... you just repeated what I said, but with different words, but ok.

No, I think he does care, because 2900 would be an insane mark, but you made a good point. Rembemer when he said that the World Champion title was becoming meaningless to him? I think he set the goal of 2900 to get rid of this feeling from him, because of course, he loves chess.

He stated it as his goal for the future. He wants to achieve it because he practically won everything, so he sets this new goal for him to keep himself motivated probably.
If not that, what new should he aim for?

He said, himself, that 2900 is his goal. It's what he's trying to achieve.
"I am very motivated to get the rating to 2900. I have never had it as a goal before, because I felt it was difficult. I have raised the rating a bit again now, to 2865, and it is at least a goal you can set. It does not feel completely impossible." - Magnus Carlsen

A stable relation.. marriage maybe

Haha, I meant chess related, and you practically answered that yourself. If not this, then retire.

you know 😄they are also talking sh*t about it like what are you saying right now when he was in 2700 they said that's impossible but now look he is the most highest rated player in the world.

He's already been w/n 30 points of it.
Is it humanly possible?
