I was offered $405,943,574,592,734,973,215,071.02, but i turned em down.  I said i would do it for a million pounds of bacon, and then they turned me down.

Naa, it was AZ on 20 million dollar hardware vs a handicapped SF on a fast laptop.

SF still #1, but it was a great step for A.I.

And bacon is being silly because this topic is silly. The world champ already lost to a computer ~20 years ago. And even though computers weren't quite better yet (definitely not dominant) as you probably know, technology has advanced in the last 20 years.

well panda did it before.  he could do it again.

Just to let you know about some basic info about the games with diagrams.

This is Go

Go is an abstract strategy board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. The game was invented in China more than 2,500 years ago and is believed to be the oldest board game continuously played to the present day.[1][2] As of mid-2008, there were well over 40 million Go players worldwide, the majority of them living in East Asia.[3] As of December 2015, the International Go Federation has a total of 75 member countries and four Association Membership organizations in multiple countries.[4]

This is chess.

Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard, a checkered gameboard with 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid.[1] The game is played by millions of people worldwide. Chess is believed to have originated in India sometime before the 7th century. The game was derived from the Indian game chaturanga, which is also the likely ancestor of the Eastern strategy games xiangqijanggi, and shogi. Chess reached Europe by the 9th century, due to the Moorish conquest of the Iberian Peninsula. The pieces assumed their current powers in Spain in the late 15th century; the rules were standardized in the 19th century.

Of course we can beat A0. We should just destroy all computers and go back to normal life

Our fascination for A0 is like that of an ant being impressed by the size of a mouse, not realizing that we need a herd of elephants to master the game of chess.
