post your predictions for the championship match between Anand and Carlsen to be held this November in Sochi, Russia.

Will Carlsen successfully retain his title or will Anand good form prove disastrous to Carlsen??

HaveAnotherGame

I'm curious as to what your opinion is on the matter. What do you think will be the result?

Zedco5596

I dont know to be precise....

But I guess Vishy has a good chance of regaining his title. If there is anyone who can challenge Magnus now I guess it will be Vishy. Furthermore Magnus has lost only 2 matches in 2014 and one of them was against Vishy.

But Carlsen knows Vishy more this time. So this will be 50-50 for me.

whatever may be the outcome , we are going to see some very good games! Anyone other than Anand would have preferred to take a break after the loss in Chennai in front of the home crowd! Anand has nothing to prove but he participated in the Candidates and won against younger talent! In this respect he is a better person than Bobby Fischer and Kasparov!

Has the FIDE ever said where the money is coming from?  I wonder if the match will actualy be played.

Carlsen hasn't lost two matches this year since he hasn't played any, however he has lost games against Radjabov, Saric, Naiditsch, and twice against Caruana. The latter seems like a more dangerous opponent for Carlsen nowadays, considering that Anand has 0-5 against him the last years.

come on Chess.com users pls post your comments here...

I hope we get to see the match live as we did the last time at Chennai! There was a record viewership in India, even eclipsing test cricket! Sachin Tendulkar cricket icon was calling it a day at that time!

Mr.BlackChrysler57 is absolutely right! Anand has proved age is only a number!

HaveAnotherGame

It will be a nice match. I doubt it will be one sided.

camberfoil

@ kN Magnus looks hung over in that pic...

ParadoxOfNone

I haven't been following news from the chess world closely as of late but, didn't Vishy have to win a candidates match to get a rematch with Carlsen ?

I never did see a headline for it in the Chess.com news archives. Perhaps I didn't look closely enough...?

I see now. I was moving back then and have been too busy to even know...

@camberfoil, carlsen is looking like an OLD MAN. Anand is as a KID  ,)

arul_kumar

Anand fought a very tough battle with a group of players ( all very talented ) youngsters like Aaronian and Cauruana and veterans like Gelfand, and emerged victorious to challenge! No one had given him the slightest chance! Sometimes it is better to be the underdog!

arul_kumar

Points to ponder!
