He is the only person ive seen on Youtube who draws conclusions and takeaway points from a game, and how we can use the strategies and tactics from the game into our games, most top players always tell us to study master games, but we amateurs always wonder why to, KC always shows how we can learn from master games( especially the old once) , like for example a week ago he analysed capablanca - Tartakower, he showed how capablanca won the endgame intstructively like how its important to have rooks on the 7th rank, use your opponents pawn as shield from your opponents checks, and how to use your king in the endgame, this are very instructive and you can use in your games, i think he is very criminally underated

The World is broken, a war between Russia & Ukraine has been ongoing for 8 months. We’ve had 2 years of COVID, people not allowed to work unless they were ‘Key Workers (UK) and now rising fuel costs have made life hard for people and spending hard earned cash on chess lessons that don’t deliver is not what you want.

KC is on Udemy as one of the top rated Chess Lecturers on that site. His courses are great value for money; especially if you drop on a sale. KC regularly offers massive discounts on Udemy btw.

One reason for the rise in interest regarding chess comes from The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. The series boosted the interest in Chess and created a desire to learn how to play chess in a lot of people. My point is simply this; chess is a game. It’s simple to learn, it’s only got 6 bits and a square board to learn about. The board is divided into 64 squares, 32 light coloured and 32 dark coloured and is the setting for a war between 2 armies. Easy.
If only it was a simple game to play.

Chess is hard.

Kingscrusher has taken to creating courses based on the games of famous GMs such as Fischer, Morphy, Tal and Capablanca. He uses engine analysis and his extensive experience  to educate people in matters of chess.
He’s created 2 courses on ‘Tactics’ and a massive 40 hour long course on ‘Pawn Structure’ along with a 40 hour course for beginners.
Being a GM is not an indication that they are good at passing on knowledge to beginners; it’s an indication that they are dedicated to studying chess and have reached a certain rating and picked up the required ‘Norms’ to get the title GM. Every Titled player has dedicated a large amount of time to this game.

Time invested is the true cost of learning how to play chess well.

I hope that whatever option you choose delivers what your hoping for.

Definitely, KC is an OG content creator who has over thousands of videoes and streams dedicated towards analysis, openings, lectures, and just incredible improvement. although i never watch many videos for super long times as i can barely focus watching calm videos, his videos really are amazing alongsides @chessnetwork who has a similar style but more popular in being entertaining. i think relatively like a NM said many years ago when this forum started, it just depends on your preference and style of watching, i don't study but i watch random videos.

Different presentation types…

For example…

Gotham Vs Kingcrusher 🧐

Both are very good but the 2 styles are different:

Levy is great to watch but could come across as intense (not to me) and is very much Chess dot Com whereas KC is relaxing and gives you 5 seconds to pause the video and presents the information in a more calming manner.

The point to bear in mind is that when you decide you are going to invest in training you want that training to be better than the free stuff on YouTube. You want to win games right… Trouble is; buying a course will not do that for you. Be prepared to actually have to study and practice lines and get to the point you can recite them. Peace ☮️

More people can get more out of someone like Kingscrusher than they can from someone like Magnus, whoever is closer to your ceiling is probably never a bad idea. i find his channel more in depth than a lot of other channels which is useful.

First of all, I think Gavriel is an excellent commentator with an elegant British accent and a fine manner of verbal expression. His game analyzes are mostly based on general positional understanding and basic chess principles, rather than deep tactical or theoretical explanations.

In this sense, he is next to Jerry from Chess Network and I would definitely recommend all beginners, as well as more advanced younger players, to watch his videos (Evolution of Chess Style in particular). Agadmator's Capablanca Saga is also an excellent starting point for beginners who want to improve their general understanding of chess.

In many posts ive seen (do not advertise other chess sites - mod) i guess you want people to use this one.too bad.lichess is a free website where you can play 150+ bots (way more than on chess.com) and analyze them for free ,you can also have custom flairs there and free video lessons.there are a lot of free studies to use there.its a overall free non-profit organization with many people prefering it over chess.com,go use : lichess.org ,lets see if the mods edit this forum thread post too 😹
