Does he use "precisely" very often?

I heard him use "eyeballing" and "that's all she said" a lot during the US championship commentary.

He's pretty cool, but "coolest guy on the planet" is a bit of a stretch... What would you say about guys such as Nakamura, Gareev, or Danny Rensch, then?

they're all the "coolest guy on the planet."  because cool guys don't feel threatened by sharing that title with others.  I actually don't know anything about Gareev, but judging by his opening and wardrobe choices in the U.S. Championship, he's definetely in the running.

I agree. When I was in high school, I joined a chess clinic sponsored by Nestle here in the Philippines. At the end of every course, there was an age group tournament and the prizes for top three finishers were Inside Chess magazines. I love the way he analyzed games. Clear and easy to understand for non masters like me.

I've always enjoyed Seirawan's wit and analysis. His Inside Chess was the best chess magazine published in the US.

What's a chess clinic? Doesn't sound like you were cured from your chess addiction... :D

Haha. Yes, I am addicted to chess and itching to play in tournaments this summer. I don't know why it's called a clinic. 😀 Anyway, the founder of the clinic/program is a Soviet-trained coach, WNM Mila Emperado. My teachers there were IM Maninang, IM Domingo Ramos, NM Jerry Nodado, NM Maga and NM Yasay.

I'm a big fan of Seirwan. He seems like an all around nice guy and his lectures on youtube are really good, same with his commentary during the Tata Steel 2015 tournament. He's got a way of explaining concepts that make sense.

He mentioned something he liked to call a "billiards move" during the Tata tournament -- moving the Queen from h4 to e1 then to b4 -- and I was able to apply that concept to one of my games weeks after!

A really attracting personality. He said (if I heard it correctly) he was (remains) the 5th youngest GM in the world.

No, he said that when he became a GM he was the 4th youngest to become a GM in history, and he was very happy to talk about it, but then, as time went by, more and more people got their GM title on a younger age than he did, even breaking the record, so he gradually spoke less and less about it
