Ok , this is my advice,   when you lose over and over again it might seems healthy therapy t0 calm or destroy your  ego (psicology) or active some chakras ,  that kind of stuff...

However,  when you lose so many times, your subconscious becomes in a loser and he really start to enjoy  lose games. (ok this can be dangerous) .

That kind of mental block, the loser feeling, it happen too in gamblers;  slot machines or poker rooms .  The owner is feeding of your strange hobby for the defeat.

So now,you know what to do,   be careful in to become in a happy camper with no reason.

Ok , this is my advice, when you win over and over again it might seems healthy therapy t0 calm or destroy your id-ego-superego balance (actual psychology) or active some chakras , that kind of stuff...

However, when you win so many times, your subconscious becomes addicted to the thrill (ok this can be dangerous) .

That kind of mentality, the rush of winning, it happen too in gamblers; slot machines or poker rooms . (actually true) . The owner is feeding on steak for having the business sense to invest in an industry based on basic psychology.

So now,you know what to do, be careful in to become in a happy camper with no reason.

English please. It's difficult to understand a thing you're saying. Apart from the language, your logic is flawed in my opinion. A "bad" player with the right mentality can improve greatly. Giving up just be because you think you're "bad" won't make you any better. It's illogical.

Chess needs bad players so that average players can feel good about themselves...

Yeah, super rational solution would then be that no one plays chess. Because when the worst players quit, the 2nd to worst then quit, and so on until the best player has no one to play.

True.

Cool story bro.

I read OP's post as a simple warning not to become addicted to playing chess.  I'm sure we've all known of gamblers so addicted to the "action" that they'll take either side of a bet.  I think OP is just saying there can be an equally unhealthy relationship with chess.  We get threads all the time from folks who want to improve but only play blitz and don't even bother to review their games.

or one could alternatively grow a pair and put the time and effort in to improve.

Thank you, I lost 100+ games to my friend when I picked up chess after learning the basics as a kid ,15 years later. I am a competitive person so I hit the library and read a couple books and started beating him. Every one is bad until they learn. Learning never stops if you continue playing and studying.

You should play chess if you enjoy playing.

You should probably not give bad/faulty advice.  Playing chess can be used for more than "winning".  It can be used to help stroke patients, people with attention disorders, brain inuries, etc.

Yes, this.

Chess is supposed to be something you enjoy. Not something that you need to improve at all costs to feel good about yourself.

It's nothing to do with compulsively putting a coin in a box and pulling the lever.

Surprisingly, half of all players are below average.

woton

I don't see why.  I manage to find people who play as poorly as I do, and we have some great games.

Really, a staff member commenting on a thread just to call it a troll thread? Isn't that a bit... I don't know, unprofessional?
