This just happened to me as well, very frustrating. It would be nice to have an explanation anyhow, whether it be a technical glitch or otherwise?

Basically, the live server process checks to make sure it can see a connection to all registered members at pairing. If it doesn't see a connection, it doesn't pair those members.

So, it could be a normal connection issue, assuming you were in the Play interface on the tournament when it started.

Same problem .... still ....

Current version of Chrome on Manjaro linux, literally watching the screen when the tournament starts and I get a 0 point bye every single first game of a tournament.

Try refreshing the tournament page a minute before the scheduled start.

Same happened with me today when i was 2/2 in 15|10 5 round tournament it gave me a 0-point bye in 3rd round and guaranteed me to not win the tournament. So frustrating as i was watching a game at that moment and they said i was offline!

If the pairing system doesn't see you on the tournament tab, then it doesn't pair as it sees an inactive connection.
