Account close & membership

I have 3 questions, (also, I'm not sure if I put this in the right topic)

Do you get a refund if you close your account?

Do you contact chess.com member support if you would like to open it back up?

And when you open it back up, is everything gonna be the exact same? You're in the same clubs, friends, or do they reset everything?

No. Unless you are a first time premium member, who bought the membership in the last 30 days, you don't get a refund.

Why close your account?

If you close your account, you have to write to support@chess.com to reopen it. I don't know what happens to friends and clubs.

Alright, thank you. I'm having a hard time focusing on my work irl and I feel like this is best for me.

When you close an account, you don't get a refund unless you specifically request it. https://support.chess.com/article/572-what-are-your-payment-policies-refunds-services-currency-etc

 

Friends and clubs remain the same, unless either remove you for being closed. It's not something the site does.

so if i wanna get a refund (because like, every penny counts) do you think if i said every penny counts and that i'm going to be very very busy an exceptional explanation?

If you request a refund, you should get it for the unused portion of your membership as far as I'm aware. If you're still in the 30-day window, you should get a full refund.

Yeah i closed my account then reopened it but it was my first time closing it but thanks for the info!
