Hey,

I have recently noticed a relatively strong battery drain from using the app. I am currently in a daily tournament, and although I do not check the app throughout the day, it is really eating up battery even though the app is closed. any general recommendations?

The curious thing is that the app drains the battery even offline too. Other chess apps don't do the same thing, so it cant be the computing power need. Their other app, dr. Wolf is also working without an extraordinary drain.

It happens to me too.. Since last update, 30% of my cellphone battery is killed every day because of chess.com app. And I have a really strong battery...

It's happening to me too...

I'm guessing a chess.com programmer has installed a parallel bitcoin mining program on all of our devices.

I hope he is getting rich because it's quite annoying.

That's not happening. One thing to try is closing the app after you're done,. Don't leave it up in the background.

wink.pngOkay - but feel free to pass the idea on to their management group though - because

"One thing to try is closing the app after you're done,. Don't leave it up in the background."

is not working. On my device you have to close the browser down on the activity monitor - and after that you are locked off from chess.com.

So if chess.com is not making money on doing ...??? what ever they are doing at the moment on our devices when we don't play - they might as well mine bitcoin.

I use the Android app, mainly for tactics and occasionally for games, and I haven't seen any battery issues in regards to the app.

You might try wiping the app data and cache, then uninstalling and reinstalling.
