Apple subscription is different than what is advertised

Here's what happened. I wanted a gold membership (unlimited puzzles), I went on the app on my phone, bought the subscription and to my surprise I got limited puzzes and unlimited game reviews. I got all confused but eventually figured out:

- on iphone, 5 plans are available, these are supposedly old plans
- chess.com now offers 3 plans, and its very confusing because in app plan description isn't what you get once you buy it

Support said:

I can see your old gold membership was purchased on September 29th 2024, however it was payed by apple.
So sadly the membership charges with IOS Chess app is managed by Apple , and sometimes, to some users they show the OLD price list instead of the new one.
Since they are in controll of this it should be fixed shortly, but it needs to be updated by them

What is most annoying, I wanted to upgrade to a plan that has both unlimited analysis and puzzles but I can't becasue I got an yearly apple subsciption that is not automatically refunded and I upgrading it on apple means paying for it twice.

I don't know what I'll do with it now, I wanted to post it for visibility in case someone has the same issue.

Pretty sure you can cancel and refund through Apple and then purchase on the website to get the correct plan you want.
