Black screen for video lessons

Suddenly I am not able to view video lessons. I get audio but the screen is black. I use Google Chrome. I went to Internet Explorer and it works correctly there. But not on Google Chrome.

Do you have any addons or extensions on chrome?

Scottrf

Yeah I had the same issue, yesterday was the first time I saw it. Uninstalled DivX player and they worked but the format doesn't work well/there is no full screen mode.

I don't have any addons or extensions. I have uninstalled Google Chrome and re-installed but it has made no difference. Because Scottrf suggested uninstalling Divx player I went and unistalled my VLC player but it made no difference.

Hey kasp.  Please try installing latest version of Acrobat, I am pretty that will solve your problem.  Well, kinda.  Cheers.

kaspforeva

How much does the latest version of Acrobat cost? I have been looking it up and appears it costs in the hundreds of dollars.

The videos have been working correctly ever since I've been a member, but just yesterday I just get a black screen. So I don't know what has changed.

Hey kaspforeva.  Acrobat is free you just have to download the latest version, or maybe download previous to latest, read on.  I had the problem you have with youtube, my videos would look black and reinstalling Acrobat's previous-to-latest version solved my problem.  I guess you had maybe some automatic update with your acrobat in which case you may need to install perhaps not the latest version but the version it was working okay in your computer.  Investigate this Acrobat idea, it did work for me.  Also please really make sure is not an add-on, those things also may cause problems.  Cheers.

I installed Adobe acrobat but it did not correct the problem. I still have a black screen. As I mentioned, I can use Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome to watch the videos but I hope this problem can be fixed.

That is pretty weird.  Must be an add on then.  I assume you have Windows7 right?

kaspforeva

I have windows 7. I don't believe there is any add on. I go to the settings and view the extensions and there is no add on. It is weird and I tend to assume that it will fix itself. But it hasn't yet.

I just restored my computer to as earlier date as I could but it did not remedy the problem.

Try installing the latest Firefox version please.  It is unaceptable that it works on such a useless Explore browser but not on Firefox.  Will figure out!

Hi kasp.  You said there where no addons, actually I meant to say Plugins. I guess you need some Plugins for the video to work on firefox.  Below I copy pasted all my plugins.  The ones I think are sensible regarding your issue are; Adobe, Nitro, and ShockwaveFlash.  Make sure you have them.  If I remember well the ShockwaveFlash is the one that does the video part.  Also, just in case, make sure you have the Java ones.  Let me know how it goes.

No videos, but a black screen. For the first time. I am new to computers so simple instructions would be appreciated.

Can anyone help?

Hey jaavy.  Please read the thread, that would help to do not repeat same info.

kaspforeva

I have all the plugins that you have mentioned. I also made sure that they all were updated. The video lessons work correctly using Firefox but still they don't work using Google Chrome. That spinning wheel at the start of the videos that seems to say that the video is loading or something does not appear when I use Google Chrome. Instead it is just a play tab.

Guys is this just on chrome ?  Anyone else having this issue on any other browser?
