There is a limit of 200 users that you can block.
Check your privacy settings and see if you can remove some, and then add the user you'd like to block.
@bilion. He's not talking about blocking the chat. He's talking about blacklisting the guy to prevent to meet him again. Its a total different thing.
The first thing I did was looking at the list of blocked users, in case I had not actually blocked him, but there was his username, he was indeed blocked -or should be.
I have currently 140 users blocked (quite a lot, but the number of those that insult, etc. seems inexhaustible), way below the 200 limit. So perhaps I should open a case with support, as advised by ghillan.
Blocking a member doesn't make that he can play you again, it makes that he cannot send you messages or post in your profile.

Quoted from the Help: "Once blocked, a member cannot ( ... ) accept your game seeks".
Yes, I don't know who wrote that but it is not true. Even if it was stuff members, it is not true (at least it is not working properly) because I only blocked once an idiot (far from 200), and he accepted a new challenge again. And I am not the only one who dealed with this...

8 years later, what? Are you saying you're seeing issues with blocking? If so, what exactly?

nono its just this chain hasnt had a message in 8 years i think chess.com has finnaly gotten there stuff together
I played against some player (I can give the name if necessary). He was 2 queens (I captured his queen, and promoted a pawn) and several pieces down, with no chances of surprise. Utterly lost. Yet, he didn't resign.
So, after the game, I blocked him.
This is what the Help says about blocking: "Once blocked, a member cannot do any of the following: (...) accept your game seeks"
I sent a "start game" seek, and then this same player accepted my challenge! I aborted the game before even starting it, but if the user was blocked, then he should have not seen my seek, isn't it?
