Blue pop-up that says "You may not use Analysis while playing chess. See our Fair Play Policy."

It's my first time that I have seen this message, not sure if it's warning me that I'm cheating or something, even though I'm not. Is this just a general message that pops up time to time? I did have two chess.com tabs, while I was playing my rated rapid match. One was an analysis of my very first game on chess.com(which I was halfway through), I was looking at old games. The second one was an analysis(start of a match) of a match I had with my friend before finishing my rated rapid match. The blue pop-up showed up on my friends unrated match as well. So I'm kinda confused.

It's new and it's because you were in Play and had that analysis tab up. Policy has changed and analysis should not be loaded when in Play.

Ah ok, thanks for the info.

I get that pop-up when I analyze puzzles encountered during puzzle battle, even though I have already gotten three strikes and the battle is over, or even sometimes when the battle has been over for several minutes. That's an issue that needs to be fixed.

I also received a notification like that. I was watching a tournament match in one screen and playing bullet games in another. Is this mechanism intelligent enough to realize that I wasn't analyzing the same position as the live games I was playing?
I didn't even notice the notification on the tournament monitor while playing; I only realized it after the game had already ended.

I just finished a bullet game that I wanted to see the analysis of but it keeps giving me the popup. I have no other chess tabs open but it seems to think I'm still playing. Really needs to get fixed

It also happened when I exited Play and went back to Analysis, I got the warning, even though I was not in analysis when I was playing. That's the problem.

You're saying that you didn't have any analysis tabs/windows open, were in play, and loaded Analysis on a new tab/window or from the existing play window?

If so, it's possible that the code sees the Live session, which doesn't immediately get removed when leaving the window, though I would have to test to see if I could recreate it.

I just got this for the first time. I think because I had left the analysis of a finished daily game loaded while i played a different rapid game.

But if the code is slow at processing then maybe it was something else. In Daily chess on the website there is an analysis tab above the draw and resign options. It doesn't give hints or move options. Is it considered permissible to use this during a game?

I always thought of this as having a board setup during correspondence chess where i could try out moves and responses.

If it is not permissible, then why is it there? And why does the pop up not happen when i open that tab?

That is allowed in Daily games.
