Board Size [Online Chess]

Hey,

When playing Online Chess, I'm not able to change the board size. No matter what size I choose (in the settings), the board size remains always the same. I also found that when showing algebraic coordinates it actually shrinks!!

Any ideias on why this might be happening or how to fix it? I really want my board bigger.

EDIT: I tried choosing "tiny" and the board changes to "tiny". I can't get it bigger than default.

Yeah.,. this sucks. I had my board set to Huge and it worked perfectly fine, but couple of days ago, my board suddenly shrinked to a default size.. It's very unconfortable for me, and I can't change it to any bigger size than default.. Does anyone have a solution for this annoying problem ?

Mine is doing the same thing. It's such a small board that it is not enjoyable to play. It's only happening for non paying members. That ad on the left is the culprit. The first day the problem occured, the ad pushed the board down low on the screen, below everything else, and was tiny. They fixed the location on the page problem, but the board size is, I fear, not going to change.

I seriously hope we get an answer about this from a staff member. It would be hilarious if non paying members couldn't make the board bigger! I used to be a chess.com premium member and honestly, I won't be one again if they keep doing stuff like this.

There are several alternatives to chess.com for online chess, and chesstempo is currently testing a "play chess" feature. I hope we won't have to migrate to a different server in order to play Online chess just because chess.com doesn't allow one to make the board bigger.

I, however, disagree with you tfulk. I think this is a bug that they plan to fix. I doubt that chess.com is that evil! 

Well let's all hope that they're gonna fix it soon, cause it's reeeaaaaly annoying.. I prefer playing on a huge board, this tiny one just doesn't feel right for me.. If im not paying I can't play on a bigger board ? that would be just plain wrong.. 

I hope this issue is going to be resolved ASAP. Chess.com was an awesome site for all these years for me, and it would be a damn shame if they would ruin everything with this little, but extremely annyoing "bug" or "feature" or whatever.. 

So far no answer from a STAFF Member... This issue has also been published on the "chess.com feedback" group. Seems like they're closing their ears and shutting their eyes hoping people will buy a membership to get a bigger board. This is sad. 

Hi guys, sorry for the delay! Our team is currently looking at the sizing issue. Unfortuantely thats all the information that I have right now. We are reviewing feedback on the ads as well. 

Yeah, the board is now smaller when i'm going to see an Online Chess/Chess960 game here, probably due to wrong position of the ads. But i still can see a Live Chess game normally.

There's now ads when i'm playing Live Chess(pretty much when also started this problem about the tiny board). Why these suddendly changes, chess.com staff?

Let's hope it's true that you guys are working on the issue, and that it's going to be resolved soon.. This change was not needed at all imo.. Chess.com is growing anyways.. Dont be over-greedy !

Yeah, and now in a better way for free members, as the ads appears to go under the moves/details table(right inferior corner).

I didn't even notice an ad. That's good for us!
