Can I screen capture?

I've never done this, but I can't think of why not? As long as you aren't posting it later while the game is in mid-progress, I think you are fine (to avoid cheating by others discussing moves for an ongoing game). 

This sounds like a question a chess.com mod would be able to answer, but I don't know why a screenshot/screen capture wouldn't be allowed.

I'm really sure it would be allowed. You can wait for a chess.com mod to answer though. Why wouldn't it be allowed? It is just a chess game and even your own game at that, right? I don't see how it wouldn't be allowed. 

Yes you can use screen captures. You can even stream the game or record the whole thing.

I was able to take screenshots in the mobile app until yesterday when I got the message that I can't due to "security policy".

Has there been a change? Or is the problem on my end? 🤔

It's a change in the app. You should be able to after the game is completed I think.

HI Everyone , In Recent updates, chess app wont allow to record the screen. Due to security reason, it will show the opponent name and their rating.

The funny part is that it's not that effective anyway. I was getting really annoyed with not being able to screenshot my games, so I just downloaded a screenshot app, and it works great. Hell, that thing would let you screen shot U.S. department of defence files if you wanted too. Also still captures the opponent's username and rating, so the screen shotting app dosen't really seem to care about security features either lol. It also allows you to screen record, so I think it's great. I don't mean to be disrespectful to chesscom app security features, but if I'm being honest I also don't really care enough to not be able to record my games.

You should be able to screenshot after the game is completed as far as I'm aware, just not while in games.

dont use app ... use browser ...

I can screenshot in-game. UK, Android app version, Google Pixel 7 Pro.
