Wondering if there is a way to spectate on the actual website on my computer as opposed to spectating in the app. Specifically looking to spectate a friend I have added.

Yes. I am assuming you are officially friends here. You can go to live chess and see what they are doing in the friends tab. If they are playing, you can observe the game.
