When did you create the email address ?
I created it this afternoon, maybe an hour ago, and it won't load. It says wrong username or password every time.
Yes you did do it correctly. I edited your post so you're not sharing your private email address with the site :)
I'm waiting to hear back on whats happening on this. Sorry. I'll chase it up again for you
Thanks! Whenever I enter the address and password, it says, "Error: Login failed - Username or password is incorrect"
I'm having the same problem... The login isn't accepting the username and password. I'm using the very same chess.com email address I chose after I created my account and the password that I use to log in to chess.com. I'm getting the same error message as Bluenauru
Same happened here, but instead, I changed my password and I can't log in anymore XD. Help?... Please?
I'm going to quote one of the chess.com people just to explain. I hope he doesn't mind.
"I am really sorry folks, that Atmail upgrade caused us a lot of headache and the team are working to get it fixed. We have the Carlsen event in a couple of days so things are crazy busy here now. We will get it fixed though :("
So wait. It's a system problem? This has nothing to do with me and my innabality to remember a password?

Looks like it may be a system error. I have just setup my chess.com email address and am having the same problem. Although I don't have any emails I need to access it still doesn't look too good from a technical point-of-view that it doesn't work.
Is there any news on this? Does this also affect POP access as I can't get that to work either?
Maybe it wont work for me as I am a computing professional!
Also when trying to access the web main interface the address bar contains:
https://mail.chess.com/index.php/mail/auth/processlogin/?emailName=*****&password=*************&emailDomain=chess.com&requestedServer=localhost
My site password appears visibly in the address bar of my browser! I have edited out the password (obviously) and email address from the above extract.
This is never a good idea from a security point as it means somone looking over your shoulder can easily see your password far easier than watching what you type. Sites should use POST requests and not GET requests when sending passwords back and forth.
I also assume as since the site knows the password to enter into the request that is is not encrypted in the chess.com database which is worrying, although less worrying that it appearing in the address bar.
Just my thoughts,
I don't mean to complain as I am a technical support person at the company I work for so I know all too well what these problems are like.
I tried to get a chess.com email address and now it won't load. It says I have the wrong username or password. When I signed up for chess.com email it didn't ask for a password... is it the same as the password I use to play chess? Did I get the email address name I chose or is it supposed to be my chess username plus @chess.com?
