changing profile picture

I have a chess.com account that I signed up for by linking to facebook. I have tried several times to upload a new profile pic for my chess.com account, but it still just shows my facebook picture. Is is possible to change my chess.com pic without changing my facebook pic?

I think not. This seems to be a restriction on basic membership ... cant-change-my-avatar-pic.

That's the facebook photo. I tried to upload another one, but it doesn't change.

what URL are you on when you try to change? are you getting an error code?

I go to "edit your profile". I select the image (a 100x100 jpeg) from my desktop. I click "save changes". It says "Your information has successfully been updated". But the pic remains the same.

Have you tried clearing your cache (Control + F5)? It is usually necessary to do it to force the change to be seen.

I've tried changing it on two different computers,  mac and windows, cache clearing and all, no effect. Am I doing something wrong? I click "browse", select the image, scroll down, select "save changes".

Maybe because you used a link from facebook?

Have you tried using a web image rather than an image on your local PC?

The "edit profile" page only allows me to browse my harddrive for images, there's no way to insert a url. And yes I assume this is because of the fact that I linked with facebook but that was my initial question: Is it possible for someone using their facebook account to change their chess.com picture without changing their facebook picture?

Presumably the URL of the image is not changing? It should be something like ...

Now that you mention it, the url changes every time I try to change the pic. But the pic stays the same

Can you try it again? I think its fixed now.

jay, i even impersonated and tried a new image for merrinji and it didn't stick!

So is there a solution for this as yet? My picture is really annoying, can't look at it for much longer.
