Anybody? Chat is showing up now but I would still like to know the cause. If there is an auto-bot checking for colorful language I will calm it down w ith friends.
Chat will not show.

OK. This is really annoying. I'm playing with a close friend and mid-game I have been muted from chatting from them. This is honestly too much to bare. If I am to be muted in the middle of a conversation with a close friend of mine due to the nature of the language I use I will remove myself from this site. I was close to signing up for Diamond Membership but this is just too much if while chatting to a friend of mine I will be monitored and subsequently muted. I love this website but if it is your prerogative to wiggle your way into every conversation I have to ensure I follow every rule. Although I am conversing with my close friends than I will have to look for another site to my chess on. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous.

Maybe you would cause yourself less stress if you just accept that the language filter is meant to be a tool for most situations to ensure that players (especially kids) do not have to be exposed to unsavory language.
To ask for an exception be made so you can use obscenities with your friends is quite impractical.
If you feel so compelled to use that type of language with your friends, you can always send a private message. Which, I'm certain, is not filtered.

Although I have to spend extra time sending messages when we may be in the middle of a blitz or bullet game... I am seriously considering another website for my online chessings but I have honesly fell in love with Chess.com. I don't understand why they have to have the same bots monitor all live chess games for any language. There is a chesskid side isn't there? That's where children should be playing the game. I always wish my opponents gl hf or Hi Gl but on the rare occasion I play a friend a few games or rematch the same opponent whom I have searched their profile and found to be a respectable player, I don't see why my chat should be monitored. It seems like there are bots who search for language without pretense, which is dishonorable in the makers eyes, not my own.

I suppose it's ok given the ICC and the brand new FIDE online arena. I just love Chess.com and all it has to offer. Even though there are other sites that offer all the periphs for free I would just like ONE website which could act as a station for it all. Unfortunately if chess.com will arbiter every conversation, every emoticon, every gesture I send to another I will have to leave. I'm not exactly politally correct in all of my views.

There is a website for children who want to play chess. If I am in a game with a known friend, I should be allowed whatever choice of the english language I prefer. 90% of the games I play I say good luck have fun, hi, good luck, hi, or gl. I only use actual interaction when it's someone I know. If I'm to be monitored in my private games I will switch sites. Because I'm obviously not wanted on chess.com. I go to this site every day but, like said before, if it's not ok to talk to friends the way I would talk to friends than our relationship has to end. I would like a mod, a monitor, an admin, or an owner to let me know before I make my decision.

I'm noit a child, haven't been for decades. Even so, I don't like a potty mouth. It's not about children, it's about good manners.

I'm sorry you're from the 20th century. I personally use it as a flavoring to my regular use of the english language. Should I use and "F" word or an "SH" word it shouldn't be regulated by the powers that be in a personal message. You can see from my demeanor in forum conduct that i'm not a delinquent or a rabble rouser. During in-game chat I reprepsent the epitome of respectability. However, if I'm in a game with a close friend I shouldn't be muted for using a flagged word or sequence of words. That shows a constraint on the website which I am uncomfortable with and I will leave. I see many threads of complaintants that just don't understand regular human interaction. I suspect the admins and rulers of chess.com can regulate between brutish, irregular behavior and friendly banter. If they cannot, like I said previously, I will take my potential diamond membership elsewhere.

You have made more and bigger comments on your own thread than anybody else
Perhaps he is being blocked for such long-winded ramblings.

I'm sorry your reading skills are so lackluster that you find my miniscule posts to be of difficulty. I find myself saying sorry far too much to be of cultured folk. Which must also speak of the regular posters of chess.com. I, again, am sorry. For my over intellectualizing of an intellectual sport. Perhaps table hockey or billiards might be more your speed.

are you trying to type in the large box? if so that won't work, use the entry line below the comment box.

Hey, I LOVE hockey and pool!! Thanks.
As for your 'intellectualizing'. It is coming across as pointless whining. Instead of just accepting the reality of the situation and enjoying what Chess.com offers, you want to keep going on about the fact that you curse in chat.
Eventually, nobody is going to care if you go or stay.
I try to type glhf or hi gl at the beginning of games and it doesn't show up. I try other messages and nothing appears. Is there some kind of bot that filters all messages and scans for "colored" ones? Because If I'm in a game with a friend or a likeable player I tend to use more obscene language. I don't believe I have ever used anything over the top or mute worthy? Just wondering? I like to chat a lot in games I understand if that annoys some but it's how I like to play online chess.
