I just got the Android app and I have a "Play Coach" option - I'm on a Pixel 8a running Android 15. One of my kids has a older Pixel, a 4a, running Android 13 and the option doesn't show up there. I checked, both phones are running the same version of the app.
It's possible it's been added for new newer Android versions, but it uses certain features of the newer OS that aren't available on older versions (I'm an Android dev and we've had to release updates this way before).

Some features are released to a subset of members. As far as I'm aware as like my as the app version number is the same they'll have the same features barring those only released to a subset of members.
