Chess.com App not working on iOs 12.5.7 on iPad

Hi

Since about a week the chess.com no longer works on my iPad Air which has iOs 12.5.7 - does it not work anymore on older versions of iOs?

Have uninstalled, reinstalled and even did a complete reset on my iPad and wiped off everything in an attempt to get it working but even that didn't help :-(

Staff are looking into the problem and there will likely be a new release with a fix coming out soon.

My ipad ios 12.5.7 suddenly became inoperable two days ago (6.3.23). Removing App and installing new one from App Store would never go past trying to open it - unsuccessful many times.

Also my ipad was unable to log onto chess.com site itself through safari browser - it got into some chess.com pages but nothing that would open properly - stayed continually in 'Loading" mode. 

Very pleased to read above that Chess.com is onto this - hopefully not just the App, but login attempts through members' browsers.

Can I suggest however that when such generalised problems arise, affecting many subsets of members all at once (such as here with ios 12.5.7 users - iphones and ipads of that vintage) that chess.com itself make an announcement - eg in 'News', or better in a  'Bug Alert/ Current Problem Page''. It's probably too much to expect a blanket email roll out* to such users, but something on the site itself would save the many bewildered and frustrated members, and visitors, from much private investigation and fix attempts. - that is if they can access chess.com itself by some alternative route, like I am here now on my PC.

*This last point comes back to the possibility of selected email alerts to identified affected members/customers.

Happy to read that I'm not alone... as soon as I installed Ios 12.5.7 few days ago,  chess.com doesn't work anymore, with the application nor thru the browser.

Thanks everyone. Now I feel reassured, and will play on my good old android tablet, waiting for the repair 😊

Browser access shouldn't be impacted. If you're using Safari, you might try loading a different browser and see if that makes a difference.

Version 4.1.11 (2695) of the app should fix the issue.

Thanks. Version 4.1,11 of the App works perfectly  on ios 12.5.7.

Meanwhile the browser on my ipad, Safari, which became inoperable for chess.com, and only chess.com, at exactly the same time, is still not loading. I note Martin Stahl's comment above that the issue chess.com identified for ios should not be impacting  browser access, but the coincidence of both faults happening together cannot be overlooked as also a chess.com issue.

Thanks to the developers, problem fixed on the application! Appreciated.
I nevertheless confirm that it still doesn’t function on Safari.

Hi, since yesterday (17 Nov 2023) chess.com doesn't work on iOS12.5.7 anymore? It just opens and closes then. Can you please help me. I have deleted it and reinstalled it twice. Doesn't helped. iPad is updated.

Same for me : iPad iOS 12.5.7 (cannot update anymore due to planned obsolescence) Chess does not open anymore this morning... 🥺

It would be great if you did some tests also on olders OS before pushing updates..

Anyway, thanks in advance for solving the issue.

There is a fix in the next app version. It should be out soon. It's waiting on Apple to approve it.

The update is out and the bug is fixed but all settings seem to have ben removed. sad.png

It's already out. There's even one version beyond that that was released.

Hello, I have problem to connect with the application on an Ipad Air iOs 12.5.7 since this morning. Spinner on the first page.

The app version is 4.1.21 (3641) (and I cannot make any update in the AppStore). Offline the app is working.

I believe support for that app version is no longer available. I know 4.2.3 is going out of support in June.
