Go to https://www.chess.com/settings/live and go to "Friends Alerts" and switch it to "None".
(Chess.com username) is online, (Chess.com username) is offline

When I'm playing Live Chess, I've always noticed that chess.com will show that one of my friends just got online or just got offline. How do I turn this off?
