i was on chesscom and for some reason, it keep redirecting me to a website claiming that I won a prize. It was obviously a scam so I closed the tab and rejoin chesscom. But, it take me back to the same website. Is anyone else having the same problem?

ChristmasBoy922

I don’t think I have that problem.
pThis happens when an ad is infected with unwanted codes. Those codes allow to direct you to other website without your consent. Contact Chess support about this problem.

Run antivirus and antimalware software.  Your browser has probably been infected, not chess.com.

Other websites seem to be fine

ExplodingPizza

I've had this same exact issue, it's been redirecting me to the same exact site

If you can figure out the ad it's coming from, you can report it:

KingMoored

Same here on iPhone/Safari.

In order to get rid of this, I had to go into Settings > Safari > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.

EDIT: Never mind - It's back again.

Terminator-T800

Have you been tampering with porntubes? cause I heard that can be a reason.

I strongly recommended you to use the epic browser, which blocks every website from getting your location information. It acts like a VPN.

Report the URL here:

I have premium, so I cannot see the ad, but if a couple of people are seeing it, it is best to report it.

I'd never heard of the Epic browser before. It looks interesting, but I don't think the vpn part of it would prevent a malvertising attack. However, the fact that it also acts as an adblocker might well prove effective against such an attack.

I also reported it to staff, so it should be removed from the ad provider's network soon.

Ad provider has removed this ad. If you see it again, or something similar, please post about it.
