My son has seen me playing and is interested in learning the game. But as someone new and still learning myself, I might not be the best teacher. So I thought the ChessKid app for iPad might be a good option to help a 5 year old. (in addition to me)

Is this free for Chess.com subscribers? And when it asks to "Sign In" or "Sign Up", do I enter my account information or create a separate one for him?

chess kid doesnt equal chess.com, nothing is related but parent accoutn gives more permissions which i suggest for him because chess kid is like hell level limiting what u can do u cant even put profile pictures, chat or etc or even choose your username, at least parent accounts can choose usernames

So log into ChessKid using my account info? Will it be as if I was logging in? Or does it act as a separate account?

ChessKid is a completely separate site with completely separate user administration and memberships. You'll have to create a brand new account there.
