Claiming win when your opponent runs out of time in daily chess

Yeah, I know it is done automatically in any games with more or less real time control... However - hope, most of you will agree - daily chess are a bit different; I suspect that most players expect their opponents allow them a lapse or two - after all, does it really matter if your game lasts a little longer?

However. It is a bit disrespectful to claim your win automatically; but isn't it even more disrespectful to let your time - and 24 hours per move is enough, to say the least - run out more than a couple of time per game?

What do you think, guys?

I don't understand your thesis.

If you want to manually claim timeouts, you can do so by activating this option.

Just go to settings > daily chess   and uncheck the Automatically claim victory when time runs out! switch.

I know; what I'm asking is when it is OK to claim win - when your opponent runs out of time for the first, second, ... or tenth time?

Wind

That's up to you to decide.

ROFL - Wind was not helpful at all.

I agree, Sen. What's the etiquette? Right now I'm tempted to claim a win because I'm LOSING and my opponent is lapsed on time... so far an extra day on a 1 day daily.

I came here to see if people had this thought out. I'm feeling if he/she goes a full week and change, maybe 10-14 days, I'll claim it. For a long time I didn't even know you could claim a win because the phone app doesn't present it to you. You have to visit the website.

In any case would love more thoughts on the matter.

My opponent let time run out. How do I claim the win?
