Create challenges via a URL?

Hi there,

I'm trying to set up a small in-club ladder and would like to make it easy to challenge players with the correct time settings and a standard game name to help players recognise those incoming challenges

Is it possible to craft a URL that will trigger a game request automatically with set criteria?  For example, can I set the opponent, and game length / game name automatically in this way? 

It's be great if I could craft a 'Challenge This Player' link people could easily click.

However, I'm not aware of a current method to add a title to the challenge.

Can I ask how you obtained that link to copy in?

There is help about this if you type /help in the console (the input line in the game window or the support window in live). Exactly what is written there is out of date at the moment, but the principles apply to the latest version that I've given above. And I would apply this caution: Chess.com sometimes changes features such as this one without notice and it may not work at some point. And at that point you may have quite a challenge working out a solution. That's been my experience.

I believe you can also build a url like this for a daily challenge, but I haven't worked that out as I haven't had a need for myself. But I'll try to look at that for you.

How I did that: I began by reading the help that I recommended to you. I corrected that by referring to another Mod who had experience with that. Then after it broke I did a lot of experimenting to get it right again. And as a help when debugging this for you I referred to the Chess.com pop-up window for challenging a player which works in exactly this fashion.
