Erik, I wonder if it is the 10-minute vote chess thing that screws it up. We tried to start our 10-minute vote chess match for the third time today, and it went balky again.

it's not related, just cooincidental :) it was the explorer database that went down and caused the rest of the site to come down with it :(

Are you sure... I am not really sure it is a coincident. First game: balky; Second game: Balkier; Third game: Nothing so far...
A few weeks ago, the database was down for 2-3 whole days, supposedly for routine maitenance. Now, it is down again -- I thought that if this was routine maitenance on the database that it would have gotten taken care of the first time. And this time, there were other problems -- until just a half an hour ago, it would not let me submit vote chess moves and it took forever for pages to load. Our group has a 10-minute vote chess match scheduled for today. If this is routine maitenance, then we would appreciate it if we were in the loop about when it is scheduled in the future, so that we don't schedule our 10-minute vote matches during times when this site is undergoing maintenance.
As a premium member, I paid for the ability to use the opening explorer, and I do not appreciate paying for a product that doesn't work. If chess.com is no longer able to provide us with an opening explorer that works, then all of us as premium members would appreciate either a refund of the value of the access to the explorer or an extension of our premium membership.
